OMG, they made a check out to my BUSINESS NAME!  My bank won’t cash it.  What should I do?

Relax, this is a good problem, people should use your business name.  There are just two fairly easy steps, and that money is yours!

1. File a DBA (Doing Business As) with your Department of Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.  For me, it is where I pay my utility bill and city taxes.  There is a basic form to fill out and the cost will be around $20.  They will mail your DBA certificate to your adress.

2. Bring the DBA certificate to your bank to add the business name to the account.

3. Post all of your events online, do lots of business, deposit lots of checks, and don’t forget to reserve money for taxes!  In fact, it will be vital to speak to a tax professional as you start collecting money!
